Doom 2016 on Stadia

Doom 2016 Review

Games have progressed a long way in the last few years. Just take a look at the differences between the original classic Doom released in 1993 and the brand new release in the franchise Doom 2016.

Doom 2016 is a fantastic shooting game that was released worldwide for all the popular gaming platforms like Xbox One, PlayStation, and Windows in 2016 with a Stadia’s release on November 2019.

Due to its graphics, gameplay, and story, the game was able to build a vast fanbase in a short time.

Story

The game occurs in a research facility that is located on Mars and is owned by the UNA (Union Aerospace Corporation). The different scientist tries to do some experiments to overcome the energy crisis on the planet Earth.

In doing so, they bring back many demons that are now causing disaster. You have to show yours skills and kill those demos with the help of different weapons.

In Doom, you play an unnamed super soldier who has been captured on Mars during a demonic invasion

This invasion was enabled by the greed of humans who try to harness the underworld for energy purposes. Your main objective in Doom is to use plenty of different weapons to battle the armies of demons and monsters.

Gameplay

Doom is a fast pace conflict game that offers you a single player and a multiplayer mode. You will have to face a massive wave of enemies and monitors that sometimes can be difficult to compete. However, it a fun playing game.

The game offers a variety of different weapons that can be freely changed by the user. Some of the guns are so powerful that they can kill the enemy in a single short.

You may encounter many enemies and weapons from the original Doom game, but most of the guns are redesigned and new.

Some of the missions have open areas that will enable you to explore different areas and secrets in the game.

The multiplayer mode grants a variety of different modes like Freeze Tag, team deathmatch that is fun to play with friends.

There are about four demons initially present in the game. The Baron of Hell, Revenant, Prowler, and Mancubus are among those Demon.

All these demons have their own power and features. There are about nine maps that are initially present in the game. All these maps are unique and do not contain repetitive areas.

The hidden collectibles in the game do heavily influence the gameplay and enable you to take down demons more efficiently. There is also some collectible which is not much useable.

Graphics

Graphically Doom is one of the most impressive experiences that you will encounter.

Some of the locations that you get to fight in Doom look beyond epic and continuously throughout the game you just want to take a break from killing and look around the extraordinary graphically detailing by the developers.

All the maps, levels, character, and other items are perfectly designed that provides you a more realistic sense. You are surely going to love it, once you play Doom.

Secrets

One thing that does feel rather rich about the doom levels is the number of secrets. There is some awesome minimap in the game that allows you to track the enemies and will give you indicate about their location.

Also, there are many mini-games to play; you can also fight at some old doom levels to unlock for your collections.

You can increase your health by your armor bar and the amount of ammunition that you can carry by finding argent cells and if you find the elite guards you can go and start to upgrade all of your weapons.

There is a wealth of customization in the game. Each of the weapons has got two different types of specialties.

But you have to earn points by killing or alternatively finding bonus points by unlocking secrets to get some customization enable. You can also gain some points by overcoming challenges which are different for each level.

Level creation tool

Level creation tool is another fantastic feature in the Doom game. It has SnapMap features that allow you to design and edit the maps according to your own choice.

SnapMap feature provides you the option to design the maps for various modes. You can create your map in a multiplayer mode and share it with your friends.

The game provides a top-down view that makes it much easier to create the map. It has an X-ray camera that helps the user to temporarily exclude the walls from the level so that the player can view all the objects present inside the wall.

Doom also provide the option to place Demons and monitor in the maps. Player movement speed and many other lighting effects can be modified manually. You can also add different items like health or ammo pack into the game.

If you don’t want to create all these stuff manually, you don’t need to worry because the game has an AI conductor that automatically add all the things into the map.

After playing your own map, you can receive some snap points that can be utilized to unlock different items. You can also share the maps with players from all around the world and can help them to modify their map.

Bonus

Gaining bonus can end up being quite important, especially if you are playing on some of the harder difficulty settings. One important thing to keep a lookout for are the rune trails.

There are 12 of them throughout the game. You can find them on all of the different levels.

There are three slots in the game that do provide you with some rather nice bonuses, for example, absorbing items at a great distance or maybe even to get one extra chance to survive a deathblow and recover.

This is essential because if you try to play on ultra-nightmare where if you die, you have to restart the level entirely. So, all in all, there is a fairly efficient progressive system throughout doom.

You can customize your character in a specific way. Doing so doesn’t really feel forced because it’s entirely up to you.
