République is an interesting mix of different genres where you get to explore a huge range of different features and ideas. At its core, this is an action adventure stealth game with an episodic approach. There were 5 different episodes showcasing the unique story of this game and pushed it to new heights with a lot of creativity and passion.
The main character in this game is Hope and you communicate with her via your computer or phone. The focus here is to try and help her escape. You are controlling the surveillance cameras in République, which is a totalitarian state. It’s an interesting approach towards the gameplay and it does bring in some very innovative and creative ideas that you want to try out. You do want to help Hope as she hacks into devices and makes her moves onward.
It’s interesting because you have a specialized software that helps you lock and unlock doors. You also get to acquire info, distract the enemies that are on patrol, and you might even upgrade your software to better versions. This happens because you will find locations with higher security. It’s an interesting take because you do get to see how a totalitarian location would look like and it’s stuff like this that really makes a huge difference.
At the same time, you do receive some assistance from Cooper, which is an American that works in the city but which hates the system and which is focused on trying to do something. The benefit here is that you get to really push the limits and come up with something new and creative all the time. Each one of the episodes is quite interesting because it puts you face to face with a vast range of different challenges and ideas.
It’s actually a really cool gameplay with a lot of nifty things being brought to the table. A lot of people liked the episodic approach of République because you always had something new to look forward to. Even if the story is not exactly incredible, it does stand out with some amazing ideas and features. You will be quite amazed with its quality and value, and overall it’s just a fun experience you do not want to miss.
Visually, République hasn’t aged very well, yet it still looks quite nice considering its era. The way you control the entire experience is exciting and it certainly stands out when compared to the other things you can find in the game. There’s definitely something new and fun to explore and enjoy as you play, and overall it’s extremely interesting and innovative. With that being said, it’s very creative and overall the value is second to none.
Should you play République? If you enjoy exploration and stealth based games, this is definitely right up your alley. It’s a very interesting title with lots of creative ideas and fun moments for you to check out. Its innovation and high quality production definitely makes it stand out of the crowd. It’s one of those games that a lot of people will like, especially if you want something with innovative and creative gameplay!
