Rage 2 is a first person shooting game developed by ID Software. It is the 2nd version of the original Rage game that was initially released back in 2011. Rage 2 was available for Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4 consoles on 14th of May in 2019 with the Google Stadia version released when the platform was launched back in November 2019.

This game gained diverse review from experts. Some critics praised Rage 2 due to its combat while some criticized it because of its characters and story. Even after receiving some negative reviews, the game was able to attract a large number of gamers.

Gameplay

In this first-person shooting game, the player is given the role of a ranger known as Walker. Walker is free to discover the game’s open-world environment. Players have command over various Walker’s abilities, including attire, gender, and skills.

Walker can use multiples firearms as well as tools to encounter against the enemies. Rage 2 includes a few guns such as wing stick from the previous title. The game also contains Nanotrite-based power that permits the player to produce Walker’s skills.

Other than this, the Rage 2 include an Overdrive mode, in which the Walker weapons cause more damage, the opponent loses more energy, and they get continuously heal.

This latest title also includes a Nano tries from the previous editions, that behave as a distinct ability booster as well as powers that are used to boost the combat efficiency. Rage 2 also includes vehicular combat such as gyrocopters, trucks, and buggies.

Story

Rage 2 takes part in the year 2165, which is 30 years ahead of the events that occur in the previous title. Humanity is trying to know various method to heal the world and with a lot of struggle they succeed in finding a way to secure the world, converting areas of wasteland into lush jungles.

Trade is increasing, and society with the name of “Wild West” is arising. But the harsh things of the old world is still present. The delicate biomes are attacked by groups of different people who desire to dominate their resources. A Player takes the role of a Rangers to end the Authority’s oppression.

Graphics

Rage 2 performs best on Google Stadia

If we compare Rage 2 graphics with its previous title, then you will surely see some different. Graphics has improved, and many new features have been added to the game. Lighting also seems fine.

However, due to exception graphics, the game also demands you to have a high-end graphics card that can support the heavy graphics of Rage 2. Without a good graphics card, you might not be able to experience the same high-quality visual result – However, this is not a problem with the Google Stadia version. We found performance pretty good with no lag and no image problems when playing on desktop and mobile.

Conclusion

Rage 2 is an open-world first-person shooting game that delivers everything that a gamer might want in a shooting game. However, the story is a bit on the negative side, but most of the current gamers don’t care about the game story, so I believe it’s totally fine. Other than this, Rage 2 offer a variety of different weapons to test the player shooting skills by hitting enemies.

Rage 2

Rage 2 delivers an interesting shooter experience with some good graphics and gameplay but a not so interesting story. Rage 2 performs well on Stadia but only really worth it if included with Stadia Pro or at a reasonable discount.
