Little Nightmares 2 Review

Little Nightmares 2 is a combination between a platform and horror game, with some puzzle elements added in there for good measure. The game is created from the ground up with the idea of bringing you an engaging, fun, but also rather scary story. They do a very good job at adding in a scary element, while pushing the experience to the next level in a very exciting and interesting way.

In Little Nightmares 2 you play as Mono, a small boy, while the previous game’s protagonist appears as an AI. The story precedes the first game’s events, and here we need to follow Mono has he tries to survive Pale City and uncover all of its dark secrets.

Just like last time, we are in a 2.5D world and the focus is to explore the world and identify what is happening to the city. Another interesting thing is that you will find some puzzles here and there. In true Little Nightmares fashion, the puzzles will vary when it comes to difficulty. Some of them are very interesting, others are extremely challenging.

Then there’s also the platforming, which is simplistic. There are a few situations where you need a lot of precision, but you don’t have to be a Super Meat Boy player or any other precision platformer fan. We like that, because it makes the game a lot more accessible, and that can be a very interesting and engaging experience for you to try out.

They added some abilities to our characters. For example, Mono is able to grab items and swing them to break objects. He can also fight with some of the foes. He still has to rely on stealth, which is extremely interesting and just a pleasure to check out. In fact, you will even need Six in order to solve some of the puzzles. Even defeating enemies will need assistance at times. But it’s great, because it offers an engaging and exciting approach.

While you play the game mostly for the story, they did add glitching remains that will unlock a new scene if you collect all of them. Then you also have collectible hats. That makes the game experience a lot more exciting and engaging, and you will appreciate the way it all comes together and the value this brings to the table all the time.

Should you play Little Nightmares 2? This is a great game, it has a very impressive story, the only downside is that it’s extremely short. If you have even moderate gaming skills, you will go through it within 4-5 hours at most.

Leaving the length aside, the experience is a great one, and you will find the gameplay to really stand out. Little Nightmares 2 improves on the first game, and the experience itself is a lot of fun. You definitely want to give it a shot if you like platformers and horror games. It’s definitely a new kind of game that you will cherish and enjoy, and you should totally test it out for yourself.
