It was revealed at E3 that other publishers can run their own subscription services on Stadia as well meaning that users can enjoy a wider range of games originally thought.
During the Ubisoft press conference, it was announced that the company has a subscription service coming out which will rival Origin Access, the EA service. The Uplay+ service will be available for PC and Stadia, allowing access to over 100 games at a monthly fee. It will include the premium versions of the latest releases and their add-ons also while including users in every beta or early access program from Ubisoft. The games can be played offline and progress will be saved even if users cancel then resubscribe at a later date.
The service will cost $15 per month which would be an additional price to the Stadia subscription fee. We haven’t had any information however about how many of these games will be available for Stadia users or if all the games will even be playable through the Stadia platform.
Regardless, it’s clear that Google is willing to let other publishers put their own subscription services onto Stadia. A move that is definitely a positive one.
