Google Stadia released a 5-minute trailer this week showing off some 4K footage of Cyberpunk 2077 which looked pretty good. However, to play the game in 4K you would need to subscribe to Stadia Pro which is the premium subscription tier. Google Stadia is providing a one-month pro trial subscription for those who buy the game before December 17th. This promotion includes a Stadia Premier kit which is a controller and a Chromecast Ultra in addition to the Stadia Pro trial.
Google has now clarified a few things about the trailer they posted to Youtube. The Cyberpunk 2077 trailer was not captured on the Stadia platform since it uses the same footage given to all platforms. All of the trailers contain identical footage so there’s no way to compare the quality of the graphics, latency and other important aspects.
There is nothing inherently wrong with using the same footage as the other platform releases but it did spark a bit of confusion for a few days. Cyberpunk 2077 will finally be releasing this month on December 10th.
