The Director of Games for Google Stadia, Jack Buser, appeared on the latest episode of the Kinda Funny podcast to talk about the upcoming cloud platform. He has been working at Stadia for four years however, the project has been around longer than that.
He states that Google Stadia will have a “much better” multiplayer experience compared to consoles. This is due to the data centre structure that Google Stadia is using. Buser explains this in terms of how Battle Royales work where 100 players play simultaneously on the same server. According to him Stadia “is the largest LAN party in the world” with “ultra high bandwidth and super stable connections”.
While he claims the multiplayer will be superior to consoles, there is still little information and footage on how this all works. Hopefully evidence to back up these claims will be coming soon.
