Google has finally announced that Stadia can be played on the latest version of Google Chrome! Those with an account can now play games through the web browser by going to stadia.com however, if you wish to buy a game you’ll need to do this from a mobile device using the Stadia app.
To play a game you simple need to click on it or press “Play” to start up the game you were last playing. To exit then you’ll want to press Esc or hold down the Stadia button on the Stadia Controller to open the menu. After this, just select Exit Game.
There are full details for how it works on their Support website here. However, 4K gameplay is only supported for a Windows computer and Chromebooks with a VP9 hardware coding. They also need to have a 4K display. While it’s not included yet, Google is working to bring HDR and 5.1 Surround Sound support to Stadia.com in the near future.
