While the recent news about the plan to add 100 new games to Stadia (link to other article) is great, it’s overshadowed by the end of new game development at Google. The company announced earlier this month that they were closing their internal game development studios and have cancelled multiple projects.
Google Stadia is moving from game development and has closed its two game studios. It will be re-focusing entirely on the Stadia platform. The company will be offering Stadia tech to publishers and making it more accessible so that Stadia might become the leading streaming tech for other video game companies.
It seems like there may be very few exclusive games in the future of Google Stadia now however, this isn’t confirmed. As the platform grows more publishing deals may arrive in the future including the potential for exclusive titles.
