HyperX is the company everyone goes to for their gaming headset needs – We recently picked up a HyperX Cloud Revolver S headset and thought we’d provide our thoughts.
The HyperX Cloud Revolver S is nothing but excellent value for money – Many people think that given its economical price as compared to the other high-end headsets, it lacks on providing the required features but as per our experience, all those statements are untrue! HyperX Cloud Revolver S features impressive 7.1 surround sound support and comes with a USB sound control box. The following is a review of HyperX Cloud Revolver S based on our personal experience and user feedback – We’ll discuss it’s design, how it feels on your head and performance…
Design
It is a reflex action that everyone wants the best product in the market, and they are ready to spend hefty amounts for it. It has the retail price of around $120 and with its dexterity and designs; it is a total value of money. It has been built with a metal frame, adjusting the leather padded band along with the connected ear-cups that ensures it doesn’t move from the head. With this headset, there is no hassle of adjusting the size because you just need to put it on your head, and it will adjust according to your fit automatically.
However, the metal strip is attached directly to the cups, and the slightest of knock will be heard to you and to the other person if you are on a call. Besides, the microphone is inflexible, and you cannot position it a lot. Last but not least; the cloth rips off after a few months, and you will have to get the ear cups replaced.
Comfort
We all know that after wearing the headsets for some time, it gets uncomfortable and in some cases, ears start aching and all this is based on the cup size. These cups have enough volume to cover the ears, and the padding makes sure that it doesn’t get unnerving even for the prolonged usage. The cups do not exert any pressure, and they are so comfortable that you can sleep with them on.
Performance
If you are investing in HyperX Cloud Revolver S for music and gaming, it has an ultra-wide soundstage which ensures the fun output given the mid boosts. In addition, 7.1 surround support and USB sound card has been added. There are standard sound settings; bass boost, vocals EQ, and flat which signifies the mids boost sound. If you enable the Dolby option, smidge and directional sound will be portrayed, but for this, you will have to pay $30 extra. So, it’s you who needs to decide if the extra money will be worth it! But let us tell you that with Dolby enabled, there will be no hollowing out of the echo.
Final Thoughts
The HyperX Cloud Revolver S gaming headset is a very comfortable gaming headset with great build quality but some minor flaws, however, will still deliver an excellent audio experience when playing games on PC or console (or Google Stadia). If you’re looking for a great headset for your Stadia (or Steam, console) sessions at a reasonable price, the HyperX Cloud Revolver S is a great pickup! Available via Amazon.
